Overview of NEET PG Seats in India (MD/MS Seats in India)
Before we analyse NEET PG seats in India availability, let’s first clarify the basics. MD (Doctor of Medicine) and MS (Master of Surgery) are postgraduate medical degrees pursued after completing an MBBS. These programs specialize in a wide variety of subjects, ranging from internal medicine to general surgery.
Each year, the National Eligibility Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET PG) determines the eligibility of candidates for these seats. The seats are distributed between various government institutions, private colleges, deemed universities, and central institutes across the nation.
There are total 46,495 PG medical seats in India offered by 540 medical colleges. On the analysis of branch wise NEET PG seats availability in India, we found 30759 MD Seats 15736 MS seats. In the 30759 MD seats 22,522 seats are recognized and rest 8237 seats are permitted mean they are provisionally approved.
In the total 15736 MS Seats, 11885 are fully recongized and remaining 3851 are permitted and they are in the process of getting full recognition.
