BAMS Admission 2024-25 session is going to start soon after NEET-UG 2024 result. This year, NTA will conduct NEET-UG on 5th May, 2024. BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) is an undergraduate degree program. This is the second most popular medical degree in India. Ayurveda is the most effective treating and healing process in the world. If you wish to be a doctor and have interest in ayurveda, you may study BAMS. This is a 5.5 year degree course just like MBBS. Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM) is an authorized body for BAMS admission/ PG-Ayurveda admission in India.

Admission in the BAMS course is provided on the basis of NEET-UG score. Earlier states and individual universities were responsible to conduct their own exams. BAMS Course Overview

BAMS is an undergraduate degree program and is the study of Ayurvedic Medicine. The BAMS is another most popular medical degree after MBBS in India. The duration of the full course is 5.5 years. This duration includes 12months compulsory rotating internship. Ayurveda is India’s traditional treatment and healing system and now it has become more modern with latest techniques and methodology. The demand of Ayurvedic doctors is high because Ayurveda treatment is safe and cure diseases from root.

There is ahigh boom in the career when you do BAMS from a good college. There are lots of ayurveda medical colleges in India but it will be really difficult to choose the right one. BAMS Admission Eligibility Criteria

Well, you have decided to get enrolled in BAMS program. That’s great, first of all you should meet some required eligibility criteria. These eligibility criteria are the entry barrier in admission process. CCIM is the response for Ayurveda education in India and have released BAMS admission eligibility criteria.

  • The very first criteria are, you should have completed 10+2 or its equivalent with Physics, chemistry and biology as mandatory subjects.
  • 10+2 study should be done from a recognized board and school.
  • You have should have passed with at least 50% marks in case General category and 40% when you belong to SC/ST/OBC reserved categories.
  • You must be 17 years old as on 31st December of the admission year.
  • You should be qualified in NEET (National Cum Eligibility Test for Under Graduate) with minimum required cut off.

BAMS Entrance Exam

Admission in the BAMS course is purely based on entrance examination. Earlier, the admission process was separated by various states and universities. But, now only NEET is enough for all UG medical degree courses. BAMS admission is based on the NEET examination.

NEET is a national level entrance examination held once in a year. Passing NEET is mandatory for all medical degree courses in India. Without NEET no medical UG admission will be done. National Testing Agency (NTA) is responsible for conducting NEET. This year the exam has been scheduled to be conducted on 5th May, 2024.

BAMS Cut off

While admission in BAMS course is complete based on NEET-score, cut off comes in the consideration. Cut off is the process to know the student test performance. There is no stability in the cut off it changes every year. It may vary from one college to another. BAMS cut off is based on number of appearing students in the entrance test and the level of question paper.

BAMS Syllabus

Central Council of Indian Medicine is authorized and responsible for ayurvedic education. CCIM has released BAMS syllabus which contains topics covered in the study. BAMS Admission Process

Dear BAMS aspirants, in this section we will cover the admission process. Admission process is same as MBBS in India. We will clear whole process in points below-

  • First of all, you should meet required eligibility criteria set by CCIM.
  • You should register for NEET-UG entrance examination to appear in the test.
  • Since, admission process is based on NEET-UG score, you should appear in the test and gain good score.
  • Wait for the result to be declared by National Testing Agency.
  • After the decoration of result BAMS counselling process will start.
  • Register and participle in various counseling events conducting in different states.
  • Do choice filling as per your rank and get allotted.

BAMS Fee Structure

The fees of BAMS course may vary from government to private colleges. Fee structure also differ in various colleges and states. Government colleges charge less amount as tuition fee in comparison to private. Fee in government ayurvedic colleges is somewhere between 50,000 to 70,000 yearly. Private colleges charge approx. 2 to 3 Lakh per year.
