Eligibility Criteria to Study MD MS In Nepal

The Indian students who are seeking MD MS program from Nepali medical college or university are required to meet with the given eligibility criteria. In Nepal NEET-PG is not mandatory for PG medical admission.

  • The candidates must hold MBBS degree from a recognised university or equivalent.
  • The candidate must have permanent or provincial registration with NMC. Or the candidate must be registered with the Medical Council of the respective country.
  • The interested candidates must have secured at least 50% marks in MBBS degree course.
  • Passing the MECEE entrance exam with 50% marks conducted by the Nepal is also compulsory.

MD MS Admission Process in Nepal

MD MS admission in Nepali institution is a wise decision if you are not able to clear NEET-PG Entrance exam. From the year 2021, Medical Education Commission, Nepal has started a common entrance exam for the PG medical aspirants. You can pursue PG in Medicine in two ways.

  1. If Indian candidate are not qualified NEET-PG in India, then you have to appear on MECEE PG. After appearing in MECEE, you don’t have to appear on any other entrance exam for MD/MS admission Nepal. The Degree acquired from Nepal in equivalent to Indian PG degree.
  2. If you have passed NEET-PG in India than MECEE is not compulsory. But the opportunities are limited because the counselling will be conducted on the seats that are left after the Counselling of the candidates appeared in MECEE PG entrance exam.

The admission process is something like, first of all the examination will be conducted. After the announcement of the results, the candidates will be shortlisted for the counselling rounds on the basis of merits and rank. The documents of the candidates will be verified, and if the candidate is satisfied with the seat allotted to them, they can lock the seat by paying the fee.
