Admission to West Bengal medical colleges and institutions is based on the NEET results. The department of health & family welfare, Kolkata, releases the state merit list. After the NEET result declaration, a merit list will be prepared after which counseling will be conducted.

Unlike, other states, the counseling on 85% of state quota seats for the state candidates and 15% seats or the All-India Quota seats will be conducted separately.
