Step-by Step Counselling Process

Registration

The registration process for Maharashtra NEET Counselling begins with creating an account on the official CET Cell portal. Candidates need their NEET scorecard, application number, and other essential details to complete the initial registration.

Payment of the counselling fee is mandatory to confirm registration. The fee structure varies based on category and quota type. Candidates should keep the payment receipt safe, as it’s required during subsequent phases of the counselling process.

After successful registration, candidates receive login credentials to access their counselling dashboard. This portal serves as the primary interface for all counselling-related activities, including choice filling, seat allotment results, and important notifications.

Document Verification Process

Document verification is an important phase where candidates must present original certificates and documents for authentication. The CET Cell conducts this process either online or through designated verification centers, depending on the specific guidelines for 2025.

Candidates should carry both original documents and multiple photocopies. Any missing or invalid documents can result in disqualification from the counselling process, emphasizing the importance of thorough preparation.

Choice Filling and Locking

Choice filling is arguably the most crucial step in the counselling process, as it directly impacts seat allocation outcomes. Candidates must research colleges thoroughly and arrange their preferences strategically based on factors like location, reputation, fee structure, and infrastructure.

The system allocates seats based on merit, category, and choice preferences. Understanding how the algorithm works helps candidates make informed decisions about their college rankings.

Seat Allotment

The seat allotment process follows a systematic approach based on merit lists, reservation policies, and candidate preferences. The CET Cell releases allotment results on scheduled dates, and candidates can check their status through the online portal.

Reporting to Allotted College

Once candidates receive seat allotment, they must report to the allotted college within the specified timeframe. Failing to report within the deadline results in automatic cancellation of the allotted seat.
