MGM College and Research Institute, Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth, Puducherry is a constituent college of Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth (SBV) Puducherry. Courses Offered

Students can pursue UG – MBBS, PG – MD/MS, PG – MSc Medical, SS – DM / MCh, Allied Health Science, and PhD programs at Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute in Pondicherry. Admission to all UG and PG courses are offered through NEET entrance examination. Institution follows advanced teaching and learning pedagogy methods for effective students’ engagement and better curriculum delivery.

MBBS Duration

The MBBS duration is 4.5 years with one-year mandatory Internship. The candidates who have completed MBBS have to undergoes thorugh one year internship to become a doctor.

Passing the First MBBS Professional Examinations is required before moving on to Phase II training.

Students of MGMCRI are subjected to ongoing Assessment Tasks (PBL sessions, quizzes, assignments, clinical case discussions, and others). Aside from the University examinations, Summative Assessment (Mid-term, End-of-term, send-up, and ward-learning assessments) would be held.

A student who fails the II MBBS Professional examination may carry the failed topics to phase III of the MBBS course, but may not appear in the III MBBS Professional part I examination until he/she passes all of the subjects of the II MBBS Professional examination of one.

Passing all subjects in Final Year Part II MBBS Professional Examinations, like in First MBBS, is also required to enter Internship (CRRI).

MBBS Fees Structure

Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute MBBS tuition fees is approximately 22,00,000 per year. The students have to pay the annual fees for the five years excluding other charges. Apart from the tuition fees, the candidates have to pay other charges such as one time registration charge during the admission. MBBS fees for NRI quota students is USD 50,000 per year.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility criteria is one of the most important things during admission. The candidates are required to fulfill the eligibility requirements for MBBS admission.

The candidate must be 17 years old or older on December 31st of the admission year.

• Candidates must have finished 10+2 in science disciplines, including biology (bio-technology) as well as physics, chemistry, and English. The minimum necessary marks for candidates in the General category are 50%, 40% for ST/SC candidates, and 45% for OBC candidates.

• Applicants must also have passed the most current NEET UG entrance (By NTA) test with valid marks.

Admission Procedure for MBBS

·  Candidates must apply for and pass the NEET UG exam, which is administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

·  Candidates who get the required NEET percentile must register for NEET UG Counseling.

·  Candidates must also join in the counseling process for choice filling, choice locking, and seat allocation.

·  The Directorate General of Health Sciences (DGHS) provides the counselling on behalf of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

·  During the selection process, aspirants must select Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute, Pondicherry.

·  Following seat allocation, candidates must visit MGMCRI for institute-level document verification and payment of fees.

·  Final admission will be based on NEET UG results, participation in the counselling process, seat allocation, and document verification and fees payment.
