Pros and cons about Studying MBBS in Bangladesh

Bangladesh has some of the top medical Institutions in Asia to pursue high professional medical courses. Most of the international students approach Bangladeshi medical colleges to pursue MBBS programs. Bachelor of medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) program is one of the toughest programs to become a Doctor.

Bangladesh has more than 40 private medical universities and 25 public medical universities. These medical universities offer different types of medicinal and healthcare courses and programs to thousands of international students.

Cons

  • Admission procedure is very strict. Only eligible candidates are selected for admission.
  • In Bangladesh there are no special seats in the name of relaxation for the reserved category students.
  • There are very few holidays in medical colleges of Bangladesh.
  • Students are not allowed to go outside the campus hostel at night. There is no night life such as late night parties, pubs, disco, bar and casino.
  • Not all college hostel rooms are equipped with Air Conditioners. If you want an AC in your room you have to request it prior to it.
  • You have to learn the Bengali language. It will help you in speaking or interacting with local outdoor patients during clinical training.
  • First year tuition fees of Bangladesh medical universities or colleges are higher as compared to other countries.
  • Some of the medical colleges have joined hands with Admission agents from Bangladesh/India in order to mislead medical students and hike their college fees.
